JINAN SAND SILTED WETLANDS INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

Square

RECREATION CENTRE nZEB

The project involves the construction of covered cafes located on a slope and a pond leisure “elevated”, to cheer leisure users.

The project is modeled on the landscape. The topography of the island evokes naturally a horizontal vertical sinuous coverage that is a real water basin full of nature (flora, fauna). The building invites the public to experience primordial nature. From the environmental sustainability point of view, the building is conceived by location and morphology, to minimize the impact on the environment (natural ventilation, thermal inertia, etc.). Other strategies are also adopted, such as using radiant panels, heat pumps, water supply fed by the surrounding river, photovoltaic panels for energy production.

From the static point of view the cover, the roof is supported by “clusters” pillars of circular section and it is characterized by a mesh of four raised post-tensioned reinforced concrete beams, in support of a second lighter metallic slab.
