The Sohar Hospital expansion detailed layout, here proposed, has been developed according the international standards and guidelines on healthcare facilities. The layout design of the Hospital satisfies the clinical and functional requirements and relationships of each unit with the others. The high design quality generates economic, social and clinical value throughout the lifetime of the building. To comply with built environment, traditional architectural features and forms are selected for the design of the new buildings.
The length of corridors linking the departments of the hospital and the rooms within a department are reduced to a minimum. To improve the patients’ experience and privacy all patient’s rooms are double or single beds with en-suite toilet.
